Under the motto ‘RE:BOOT’, this year’s Digital Banking Day by CREALOGIX and ELAXY took place from 22–23 September 2016 in Munich. For the first time, this event was carried out jointly by CREALOGIX and ELAXY, after CREALOGIX successfully acquired a participation in ELAXY at the end of 2015. Alongside impressive presentations and talks, including those by digitalisation and innovation expert Franz Sebastian Welter and innovation consultant Nick Sohnemann, it was the professional networking, culinary delights and visit to Oktoberfest which the 100 participants were most excited about.
It’s Time For Plan D
The structural reworking in the banking sector and the immense challenges which the industry is currently facing were used as an opportunity to discuss technological trends and regulatory challenges, but especially to think outside the box. After the humorous opening of the event by Prof Elisabeth Heinemann, the common perspective of CREALOGIX and ELAXY was demonstrated by the CEO of the CREALOGIX Group, Thomas Avedik.
Franz Sebastian Welter then succeeded in making realistic methods and examples available to the finance institutes, which would optimally support them in achieving their plan D. “This year’s event was once again notable for the interesting presentations, which were both understandable and expressed a clear challenge to people to act,” says Anton Sproll from Leutkirchner Bank.
The four steps to digital transformation
The chosen talks and presentations were aimed at the four steps to digital transformation. They included a product demonstration by the Digital Banking Hub, which showed in a striking fashion how scalable technology and software can be used in an agile way, followed by the newest trends driven by the Internet of Things. The boundaries of digitalisation, for example virtual reality, were also shown in a critical light, which gave them authenticity in the eyes of the hosts. The event was rounded off with explanations of how money can be earned with Plan D at the same time as a unique experience is offered to the customer. The talks gave stimulation for discussion and demonstrated possible ways in which banks can deal with current challenges, so that nothing else stands in the way of the ‘RE:BOOT’.
With a great deal of vision, even the chosen location became a highlight. Above the rooftops of Munich in the event space upside east, the participants were not only inspired by innovative talks, but also taken into new architectonic dimensions. The conference concluded with a visit to the Munich Oktoberfest.
“By mixing trend lectures, product innovations and practical examples, we were able to present a well-rounded programme. We also gave networking the necessary space, allowing participants to exchange ideas with each other,” says CREALOGIX CEO Thomas Avedik.
